FAQ
Who runs the Club?
The club is run by volunteers who also happen to be leaders with Girl Guides of Canada, one of the partners in the CN Future Links Girls’ Club Program. The Golf Professionals and the facilities we use receive payment for their services.
Do I have to be a member of Girl Guides to join?
No, all girls between the ages of 7 – 18 are welcome in our club. No tryouts!
Do you still need volunteers?
Yes, volunteers are needed for many activities of the girls club. See the get involved link for more information. Parents, older siblings and even Grandparents have volunteered to participate in some way according to their abilities and interest.
Will the Girls’ Club participate in other events?
We are always looking for opportunities to get Girls’ Club members involved in golf or fitness related events. Past years when the CN Women’s Open LPGA event came to Calgary, Girls' Club members had a chance to “Walk with a Pro” for a hole. Stay tuned for details for any future events or send us your own ideas and we will investigate. Remember girls just want to have fun.
Can I play extra golf on days other than Girls’ Club days?
Yes, all girls are encouraged to practice and book tee times with friends that they make at the Girls’ Club. Included in your registration fee was a Golf Canada Centre Junior League registration encouraging the Girls to participate in this fun recreational junior league on Monday nights May through September. We also try to arrange discounted green fees for members of the Girls’ Club. May golf clubs have Family nights where family foursomes are welcome. We can help you get more information about these opportunities.
Who will determine in if am course ready to play?
The golf professionals that have been teaching you putting, chipping and driving skills will make that decision. Many girls are ready and will be able to play a full 9 hole round.
